Ban Ki-Moon took his place as the eighth Secretary General of the United Nations, coming from the Republic of Korea. Mr. Ki-moon has been in government service and on the global stage for 37 years.

President: H.E. Sheikha Haya Rashed Al Khalifa

H.E. Sheikha Haya Rashed Al Khalifa served as Legal Adviser to the Royal Court in the Kingdom of Bahrain and is now the President of the sixty-first session of the General Assembly held on June, 2006.
