SYNOPSIS
The Crucible is a fictional retelling of actual events in American history surrounding the Salem witch trials of the seventeenth century. The historical drama revolves around members of a puritan village who are swept up in hysteria after a group of young girls accuse certain townspeople of practicing witchcraft. The subsequent trial of the accused reveals universal themes of power, obsession, moral consciousness, love and redemption.
