The Project

Following the inspiration of the American former Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky and a number of other thinkers/artists from around the world, the English Department at CIC began in November 2001 to promote the sharing of poetry and other poetic works in the performer's mother language. By encouraging students, staff, parents, faculty-everyone in and near our CIC community-all of us might come to better appreciate the beauty and joy found in language and in the diversity of our community.

 

A Celebration of the Sound of Language

To celebrate the sound of language students from grades 6-12 and members of the faculty read poems in their native languages. We hear many poems from many students in many different languages!
