Trips to Orphanages
The trips to orphanages are one of the most regular events, happening usually every month. In these, the members go to the orphanages and prepare different activities for the orphans. They may include games, birthday parties and sports. The objective is to bring some light to orphans' lives but also to create an interaction between the orphans and other people and promote peoples' understanding of their hard situation.
Clash of Colors
Clash of Colors, one of the major events on the AyA calendar, brings number of orphanages to CIC and promotes interaction between the different orphans and AYA members. The participants are divided into different groups or teams represented by a color - thus the name Clash of Colors. The different teams play games and sports.
Christmas food and toy drive ( Christmas Basket )
Annually, the AYA club helps orphanages by providing food and toys. AyA members and other students from Colegio Internacional de Caracas contribute by collecting these. The food is then brought to the orphanages on monthly trips and the toys are given to the orphans as presents.
Baby basket for teenage mothers
The AyA club also thinks about the pregnant teenage mothers. Annually, the club buys necessary supplies, such as baby shampoos, to help them start the new and often difficult phase of life.
AIDS Raffle Tickets
Annually, AyA sells raffle tickets from Funda Samaritana. The profit from this event is than donated to Casa Hogar Niņos con SIDA, in order to improve the facilities and the treatment.
Christmas Party
A Christmas Party may be part of a regular December trip or may happen in the school. AyA brings cookies, cakes and drinks to the orphanages and celebrates the Christmas with the Orphans. Often this party is associated with games and a "real" Santa Claus.
