Spotlight on alumni - March 2007

Lucy Wolfensohn de Alió - Class of 1956

Lucy studied at the Colegio Americano in Bello Monte from 1952 to 1956 at the Venezuelan high school department.  She visited CIC today during a meeting of the British Women's Group of Caracas.    Lucy is leaving soon for a trip to Santa Barbara, California where she will meet with other Colegio Americano alumni, including Marian Luca, Paola Morettoni and Giuliana Morettoni.   After graduating from C.A. she spent 1 year at Russell Sage College, NY.  She then returned to Venezuela and became a lawyer at the Universidad Central de Venezuela (1963).   In 1962, she married Ernesto Alió and left for France for post graduate studies at the University of Grenoble. After some practical work, they returned to Caracas. She has worked free lance the rest of her life.  “I performed as the treasurer of an NGO dealing with animal welfare until 1999, when I founded ARFA  (Asociación de Rescate de Fauna).   I have run a rescue, rehabilitation and Rescue Center for wildlife with our educational project dealing with schools of the nearby communities with great satisfaction.”  Find out more about Lucy’s work:  http://www.geocities.com/arfavenezuela/index.html

ShoutCIC's alumni website connects our alumni from all over the world and going back as far in school history as we can. We are here to serve our alumni for contact and networking of alumni and faculties, organizing alumni graduation classes for large and small reunions, and informing alumni of what's happening at CIC today and how they can participate with their alma mater.

We are adding information all the time, so check back regularly. If you use an RSS reader or an RSS-aware browser such as Safari, Firefox, or Opera; you can subscribe to this page so that you'll know whenever we've added new information.

Alumni list of current alumni names, email addresses and telephone numbers

We have about 1,000 alumni identified by their whereabouts today, and we are looking for several thousand more. To protect their privacy, this list is not publicly available. To add your name to the alumni list or to certify that you are already on it, send an email to our alumni office and we will respond at once.

Graduation classes lists of graduate names, sports teams and faculty by year

We have several dozen yearbooks but are missing several others. If you possess a yearbook we don't have, we would like to borrow it, copy it, and return it to you promptly. To see which yearbooks we are missing, please click here.

StudentGraduation class photos, sports teams photos, and faculty photos by year

We are scanning the yearbooks photos and will be placing them on this page as the work is completed. The links at the top of this page go to classes that are already online.

We also plan to include current photos of alumni that you send to us should you wish to do so, please email our alumni office and we will arrange for you to do so.

Reunions, class secretaries, and alumni networking

We want to facilitate CIC reunions, large or small, in the U.S., Venezuela, or elsewhere. To do so, we need to find individuals interested in organizing their class by email or telephone networking, which we are happy to facilitate through this website.

If you are interested in organizing your classmates or finding who is doing so, please email our alumni office and we will respond at once.

StudentParticipating in CIC activities today

CIC has created a civil association (Amigos del Colegio Internacional de Caracas) to support a scholarship program to CIC for students who need financial assistance, the Model United Nations program, the Ayuda y Amistad social service program, sports facility construction projects, and the arts, music and theater programs.

Alumni can learn about each of the above activities by returning to the homepage and clicking on whatever interests you.

StudentCIC encourages the alumni to support these worthy goals. For CIC alumni currently residing in the U.S., a full tax deduction for your contribution is provided.

How can we help?

We will do our best to respond to other inquiries you may have, just click here. Check this site regularly as we will be adding information for you continuously.
