We love receiving feedback & here is what some students, parents and other community members have been kind enough to say about Colegio Internacional de Caracas:

It has become crystal clear to me during these school tours here in Vancouver that Allie and Chris have received a SUPERIOR education @ CIC. I am extremely proud of them, more than ever (and that’s A LOT!) – and proud of CIC as well. Some time ago, Daisy and I entrusted CIC with the education and development of our children. You personally have done a superlative job with them both since that first day back in August of 1997. Words alone cannot thank you enough for everything you have done for us, Carmen.

I … wish to thank the staff at CIC… for the support given to Rachel… This support, as you are aware, goes beyond just the academic and we are indeed grateful that we can count on the school support which has proven to be a great blessing to us.

Rachel has received a scholarship to attend Middlebury College, her preferred choice, in August. This would certainly not have been possible without the great work done by the staff at CIC, and the opportunities provided her to achieve her potential…

Please give special mention to… the French teacher. Rachel has done well in her SAT2’s in French… Most of us parents depend greatly on teacher supervision and I firmly believe that CIC has a great staff in this regard…

I also send my regards to the board and would encourage them to continue to seek solutions in striving for excellence…

Again I must say that the opportunities at CIC to do the IB programme, Model United Nations, CAS, Vanas etc. no doubt produce well rounded students who, although having to compete with thousands others from every corner of the globe for scholarships, can successfully do so, i.e. Nicholas’s success last year in receiving the Global Scholars scholarship award from Clark University. He is very happy there and is doing well. Regards.

Over the last four years, my children have attended the CIC, the International school, in Caracas. When we arrived in Caracas, they were respectively 5 and 3 years old and did not speak a word of Spanish. They both received a warm welcome and were rapidly integrated into their respective classrooms. As a mother and later a board member of CIC, I noticed that the staff and faculty are keen to provide a safe and challenging learning environment where children strive. They are also professional and view each child as a complete person, takes the time to understand their specific needs to ensure the support is tailored as much as possible to the child’s needs. One good example is best reflected by the efforts done to integrate the IB profile at all levels of the curriculum and social interactions.

CIC is definitely more than an international school, it is a community, building strong ties among parents, faculty and staff. The atmosphere is filled with respect and care for individuals and the different activities throughout the year are effective at bringing people together and lifting the spirit of a common community, just like a family.

As I look at my children today, now 9 and 6 ½ , I am extremely impressed with their academic and social skills development and progress overall. They are very aware of the international world surrounding us, they have developed solid working habits and embraced the IB profile to be inquisitive, sensible and caring, to value knowledge and respect. They show an open mind to new concepts and have developed working habits that will accompany them for the rest of their lives.

I am extremely grateful to CIC, to its faculty, staff and to the safe and warm environment they have offered my children over the past four years for them to strive and develop.

Teaching has always been a passion of mine, interacting with young individuals from different backgrounds is rewarding and eye opening. That is why International teaching is proving to be rewarding and captivating. Having worked at an International School in Harare Zimbabwe for over ten years the idea of leaving home and embarking on a journey to a whole new continent and way of life made me a little nervous. The CIC community is a supportive and lively environment. The school days are filled with learning experiences for not only the students but the interesting and knowledgeable faculty. It has only been a few months but I already feel at home.During the breaks and holidays I have been on a number of excursions around the country where one is surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna. I hope to see more as time goes on.The vibrant culture is quite an experience, the language the food the art shows. Caracas is a huge city and one does have to be cautious as anywhere else in the world but I would encourage anyone to take that first step and come live and work in Venezuela at CIC and experience a whole new world.
